Program Management System - 21st BCCE - Best of Chemistry Professors' Demonstrations

Symposium Title: Best of Chemistry Professors' Demonstrations
Descrption: Tertiary-level chemistry instructors and/or lecture-demonstrators will present a series of chemical demonstrations used to help students with their understanding and learning of the chemical concepts taught in college level chemistry courses including general, organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry. The demonstrations will be presented as they would be in the classroom. A detailed handout (hard-copy or electronic) that describes the 1) relevant concepts & applications, 2) materials and equipment including resources of less common items, 3) safety and disposal issues, 4) any needed advanced preparation, 5) instructions for performing, 6) pedagogical suggestions, & 7) references. The symposium will be sponsored by Sergeant-Welch (Dr. Mark Meszaros) who will provide the chemicals needed by the presenters at no cost.
Program: 21st BCCE
Audience: General Audience
Organizer: Jo King
Restrictions: Maximum of 6 presenters (15 minutes each), minimum of 3 presenters (30 minutes each). Presenters must be employed at tertiary institutions either as chemistry professors/instructors or as lecture-demonstrators.
