Symposium Title: Student-Centered Learning in Chemistry
Descrption: MaryEllen Weimer identifies five key areas where changes are necessary in order to facilitate learner-centered teaching: balance of power, use of content, encouraging student responsibility, the role of the teacher, the purpose and process of evaluation. Presentations will describe curricular innovations that answer to any of the above areas, how they were received by students, and the cognitive and/or affective results.
